Blacksmithing

In 1993 AWB started out with Alex as a sole trader blacksmith. Over the last 20 years we have developed a niche product range, hand forging architectural ironwork to a high standard. We work with our client, be it a conservation company or a member of the public, to create exactly what is required.

We regularly undertake projects for English Heritage and other conservation groups and take pride in repairing and replacing artefacts that need attention.

We also undertake one off commission forge work and with over 30 years of experience within our team, feel there is nothing to big or small to tackle.

We use traditional methods where required and can source and work genuine wrought iron as well as steel and even non ferrous materials, such as copper, bronze and brass. Our coke forges are used in conjunction with gas furnaces and traditional blacksmithing tools to manipulate the material into the desired form.
